Oh how I love my Bryson!!!! Today isn't just a special day because it's Garrett's (my nephew) 7th birthday. Bryson had such an eventful day that I have to post about it. It started off as a typical day of babysitting. I thought I could throw in a couple of errands before nap so off we went (so I thought). As I was putting the extra car seat in the van, Bryson was running around pushing every button and compartment he could. Needless to say I finally got him & Mason strapped in their car seats and shut the doors. As I was walking to put the double stroller in the back all the doors locked (I guess it was a delayed locked from Bryson pushing the buttons earlier.) The keys were inside the van, boys were strapped in, and no way to get them out to unlock the doors. Dennis wouldn't answer his phone at work since he was training a group at the time. He was the only one with a spare key. His work is about 30 minutes away. I wasn't sure if I should call AAA and pay the fee for a locksmith or call the police to help unlock the door. Luckily Dennis called me back after about 10-15 minutes and came home to rescue the boys almost an hour later. The boys did really well for about 30 minutes and then they end up crying themselves to sleep. It was so sad. Atleast the weather was nice today.
You might think the story stops there, but no...Dennis and I decide to go get fast food since the boys were sleeping in the car at this point. We drove to Long John Silvers and decide to eat in the parking lot instead of driving home to eat it. Tuesday Morning (the store) was right there and I wanted to get a little gift for somebody so I ran in there. Bryson had woke up and wanted to come so Dennis stayed with Mason and Bryson and I ran in. While I was there I picked up a Christmas serving bowl and a porcelain Santa spreader fell to the ground breaking into ten or so pieces. Nope, I can’t blame that one on Bryson. The store worker was so nice and just came over to help me pick it up.
The story still isn’t over….I didn’t end up finding a gift so later that day around 4:30 I went to look again. I found what I needed and then ran to the grocery store to pick up a few items. It was just me a Bryson since the girls could stay home with Dennis to do their homework. The shopping cart I got didn’t have both straps so I just put Bryson in the back since it was going to be a quick trip anyways. He wanted to walk, but was touching everything in sight so in the basket he went. One of the items I needed were eggs. I sat them in the seat where Bryson should have been sitting and went on to the cereal aisle. All of the sudden, Bryson is dumping out the whole carton of eggs in the back of the basket. I go to grab it from him and he starts throwing the eggs out of the cart one at a time. At this point Bryson is thinking he is so funny. I think we lost about 3 eggs and cracked many others. I could have died. I just did my best to get what I needed and checked out.
And the story still continues…After dinner the kids were watching t.v. in our bedroom. Dennis and I were chatting and finishing up dinner since we ate at different times than the kids since our realtor came to have us sign some more documents so our house can close in January. I’m finishing up loading the dishwasher and Dennis has gone upstairs to see how things are going. He calls me up because Bryson has gotten into the Eucerine Lotion (the really thick kind) and has smeared it all over our bathroom walls. Of course he is covered in it as well. I’m on my way out the door for a Relief Society planning meeting and Bryson takes his hands and smears them down my black shirt and pants. LOVELY!!! It’s a good thing I love him. I love that he is now sleeping and we can put this day behind us. I will always remember our crazy day because it’s Garrett’s birthday. Hope your day was better than ours Garrett!
